Whenever the name Billy Hamilton is said, the first thing that is thought of is: oh he is the speedy youngster on the Reds. True, but 102 years before Billy was even born there was another Billy Hamilton who in 1888 ran (and I mean sprinted) into the American Association and later the National League. He finished his 14 year hall of fame career with 2164 hits, 1697 runs, a .344 batting average, and 914 SB. If you thought Billy of the Reds was fast, well Billy was faster.
