Fun Fact of the Day:
The first officially recorded game was on June 19, 1846, at the famously historical Elysian Fields between the New York Knickerbokers and the New York Baseball Club, resulting in a 23-1 win by the NY Baseball Club. From there on multiple amateur games a year were played until the National League was founded in 1875; the year professional baseball really started. Before that, many start up leagues died as quickly as another one formed. But, all in all, June 19, 1846, was the beginning of American History, the founding of this country’s great game.
