The Tribe will shock the world even more so if the Cubs win after the longest drought in history. Indians in 7 games.
The Indians have smaller room for error than the Cubs do to win this series, but they have home field advantage and can play small ball (National League style play). The key is for Cleveland to get runners on base, so that they can engage in their brilliant running game, which Chicago pitchers’ are not very good against. However, the Cubs have shown that they can win in many ways, and their offense can get going pretty hot, but can also fall into slumps like they did in games 2 and 3 against LA. The Cubs showed against the Dodgers that they can beat a good bullpen to come back and win, but LA didn’t have an Andrew Miller bridging the gap to the closer. Terry Francona is just as good of a manger as Joe Maddon. The Cubs may have 3 games in a row at home, but there are two games a piece on each side of those 3 games at Progressive Field. Cleveland will win the close games, but the only way for the Cubs to win the whole thing is to blow out the Indians early, and thats hard to do for 4 wins. The Tribe have a hustle, don’t quit, small ball, type of team that has brought American League teams championships before, like the A’s in the 70’s. Baseball is not a sport where a juggernaut squad wins all the time, its a strategic game, and Francona is a genius on the battlefield.
