Nationals Decide on their Starting Catcher by Trading for Derek Norris

Once a top prospect in the Nationals system, Derek Norris will now be returning to Washington. In return the Padres received a relief pitcher. But, what does this mean in terms of the catching role in DC? Certainly this new acquisition means the end of the the possibility for all-star Wilson Ramos to return on a new deal. However, clearly, Norris is no Wilson Ramos, so the Nats will have to utilize their other catchers as well. First Offseason Blockbuster Trade Make Sense for both Sides

Right before Thanksgiving the Mariners and D-backs completed the first blockbuster trade of the offseason. A transaction that included the 2016 NL hits leader, Jean Segura. For the D-backs who are in desperate need of pitching depth, received Taijuan Walker. In addition to the former top right-handed pitching prospect, the D-backs obtained shortstop Ketel Marte.
