According to multiple reports, the Tigers are near inking starting pitcher, Jordan Zimmerman, to a deal, in the ballpark, of 5 years and $110 million. Over the past few years, the lack of production from the bullpen has held the Detroit Tigers back, and Dave Dombrowski did nothing about it, however, the new GM, Al Avila, has a different mind set. On Wednesday November 18, one of Avila’s first winter moves was adding a significant piece to the pen, as the Tigers acquired former AL 3-time saves leader, Fransisco Rodriguez. The Los Angeles Angels and the Atlanta Braves were the first pair of teams to complete a big time trade this offseason. On Thursday night the Braves sent Andrelton Simmons to the Halos in exchange for shortstop Erick Aybar, along with pitching prospects Sean Newcomb and Chris Ellis.
