Almost 48 hours after the trade that would bring Carlos Gomez to Citi Field fell apart, the Mets get that big bat they wanted anyway. Just about when time ran out on trades for the 2015 season, the New York Mets traded away two minor league right-handed pitchers to the Tigers in return for Yoenis Cespedes and his $3.7 million remaining on his contract. Just hours after the second ace on the trade block drops off, the final and third one does as well, yet again for another surprise team. After there were 5 teams vying for David Price, the Toronto Blue Jays won the bidding, as they finally do something to improve their pitching. Hamels Deal A Win Win

After all these months of speculation on the trading of Cole Hamels, the Philadelphia Phillies finally pulled the trigger. The Texas Rangers were not exactly the team the baseball world had in mind for receiving the star left-hander, but what Philly got back in return is what they have been asking for. Along with Cole Hamels, the Rangers will receive reliever Jake Diekman in return for an abundance of prospects and veteran starter Matt Harrison to the Phils. Dodgers’ Star Front Office at it Again

At the Winter Meetings back in December, the new-look Dodger front office headed by Andrew Friedman went crazy with trades parting with Kemp and Gordon among others; and now they are at it again. According to multiple sources the Dodgers have agreed to a three-way trade with the Marlins and Braves that will send starters Mat Latos (Miami) and Alex Wood (Braves) to the Dodgers along with braves reliever Jim Johnson plus Miami 1B Michael Morse.
