For just over a decade now the all-star game, every year in the midst of July, has given the winner home field advantage in the upcoming Fall Classic; no matter how deserving that league’s representative is. Fun Fact of the Day: Over the years since 1933, the MLB has seen 86 all-star games between the NL and AL. There have been streaks of years when each league won several in a row, then some decades where they went back and forth, but overall the NL has won the most. The National League has won 43 games while the American League has won 41; and there has been 2 ties. Fun Fact of the Day: Tonight during the 86th all-star game, Mike Trout hit a leadoff ho0me run vs Zack Greinke in the first inning, becoming the first to do so since Bo Jackson in 1989. Overall in the history of the all-star game, there have been 6 leadoff jacks including Trout and Bo. To hit a lead off homer off of one of the game’s toughest pitchers of current is a true statement to began the mid-summer classic; and Trout has now done it at only 23-years-old.
