Dodgers Looking For Pitching Going Into Deadline

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been holding onto the top spot in the NL West for the most part of the 2015 campaign, as expected, but not in the way that was envisioned. Going into this season, the addition of Brandon McCarthy, Joc Pederson taking over in the outfield, and J-Rol being the head veteran in the infield, the Dodgers were expected to win with them leading the charge, but that hasn’t been the case. First Official Game

Fun Fact of the Day: The first officially recorded game was on June 19, 1846, at the famously historical Elysian Fields between the New York Knickerbokers and the New York Baseball Club, resulting in a 23-1 win by the NY Baseball Club. From there on multiple amateur games a year were played until the National League was founded in 1875; the year professional baseball really started. Before that, many start up leagues died as quickly as another one formed. But, all in all, June 19, 1846, was the beginning of American History, the founding of this country’s great game.

First Pitcher to Beat all 30 Teams

Fun Fact of the Day: On April 30, 2002, Mets pitcher, Al Leiter became the first pitcher in history to collect at least one win against each major league team. Al may not have been an ace, but that record is still terrific. One may  think a record like that could be easily accomplished, but since there are so many inter league games each season, a win against every team for only pitching every 5 days is extremely hard to do. There are multiple MLB milestones set, but not all are by elite Hall of Fame worthy talent.
