Happy 84th B-day!

Fun Fact of the Day: Today the Say Hey Kid, Willie Mays, turned 84-years-old. It is hard to believe that it was almost 43 years ago that Mays finished up his Hall of Fame career; including leading the league in walks at 40 years-old; his last season with the Giants. There are many legends that are celebrated on their b-days; their careers looked back on, but when discussing Willie, terms such as “god” or “best player of all-time” are acceptable. How Many Runs Does Each Defensive Player Save

For the most part in the eyes of a general baseball fan, gold gloves, fielding percentage and number of errors is how a player is judged defensively. Billy Hamilton back in 1894 scored a total of 198 times in just 132 games. It was due to Continue reading Most Runs in a Season

The Definition of Houston’s Hot Start

It seems like there is always a surprise team to get off to a hot start, and for the most part that team eventually cools down to a point where they were a fluke. Well, the Astros, with their 18-8 start, are that team in 2015, but it’s no fluke. This Astros team could very well be the Royals of 2015 or 2016. The 2015 Astros so far are all power, as they currently lead the MLB with 40 round trippers, although their pitching has been solid as well, thus far. The efforts of young starters Dallas Keuchel and Collin Continue reading The Definition of Houston’s Hot Start
