Fun Fact of the Day: Back on Wednesday the 27th, Matt Holliday hit a single in the 5th inning of a game against the D-Backs, which was the 43rd game in a row this season that he reached base safely. With that he passed Albert Pujols’ record of most consecutive games to start a season for reaching base in the National League. Killed in One Inning

Fun Fact of the Day: Jeremy Guthrie became only the second pitcher in history today to allow 11+ earned runs in one inning of work or less. Considering that Guthrie has been pitching like a true veteran the last year or so, including help lead KC to the Series, this outing was very unlike Jeremy. Sure every pitcher has a bad outing here or there, but this was so horrendous that it made the history books. Ground Rule Doubles Were Home Runs

Fun Fact of the Day: Believe it or not, back before the start of the 1930 season, ground rule doubles were scored as home runs. As long as a ball carried 250 feet then bounced in fair territory and jumped over the fence, it was counted as a round tripper.
