Giants Happy to Bend Over Backwards to Acquire Moore

The best get better, as the Giants acquire former AL all-star southpaw, Matt Moore, from the Tampa Bay Rays, but it was a bitter sweet move for both teams. The Rays have not made a big move in years, but have now at 2016’s trade deadline in order to bolster their already good farm system. With San Fran being cold since the all-star break, allowing the Dodgers to inch up to 2 games back in the NL West, the Giants made a move to improve their already solid pitching staff, despite what they gave up in return. Rangers get Their Catcher, While the Brew-Crew Gather Gold

Texas hasn’t had a solidified catcher since A.J. Pierzynski in 2013, so they go out and make a splash by acquiring Jonathon Lucroy, but it didn’t go without a hefty price. Like their deal for Cole Hamels last summer, the Rangers gave up some valuable prospects. However, with this deal, Texas clearly states their plan to win it all in October. Obviously the Reds didn’t get the haul of prospects during the deadline period that the Yankees got, Continue reading Reds Unload Another Star, this Time to the Mets, but Was it For Enough?

Marlins Complete a Risky Trade with Padres

At seven games above .500, and a game out of a playoff spot, the Fish made a huge trade with the Padres to make the statement that they are going for it. With the rotation being Miami’s biggest problem, they go out and acquire Andrew Cashner and Collin Rea from the Friars. In return, the Padres finally got rid of the disappointing Cashner, while bringing in a hall. Unless the Marlins can turn Cashner into an elite #2 behind Jose Fernandez, San Diego is the winner of this blockbuster trade. The highlight of the hall the Friars received, despite Carter Continue reading Marlins Complete a Risky Trade with Padres
