Reportedly the Cubs and D-Backs have agreed to a trade that will send Miguel Montero to the Cubs in exchange for 2 minor league pitchers. Those two pitchers are Jefferson Mejia and Zack Godley. This deal is absolutely huge for the Cubs after losing out on Russell Martin. Wellington Castillo is a good catcher with power in his bat and arm as well as his pitch framing, but he is not quite good enough for 130+ games in the starting role. Last offseason the D-backs, Yankees, and Tigers completed a three-way trade, and now a year later they do it again. This time the trade went down like this: Yankees acquire Didi Gregorious, Tigers acquire Shane Greene, and the D-backs get the worst of it in Robbie Ray and an infield prospect.
