Kimbrel Trade Worth it for Both Squads

This past weekend the Red Sox jumped into maneuvers quickly to aid their pitching staff, as they acquired closer Craig Kimbrel from the Padres in exchange for 4 minor leaguers. In the deal, the Friers got Manuel Margot (#25 ranked prospect in the game), Javier Guerra (#76), Carlos Asuaje, and Logan Allen. While the Padres have a suspect farm system and an underperforming major league roster, the Sox should benefit the most from this trade. Just as thought, Zack Greinke has opted out of his contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Despite having 3 years $171 million left on his 6-year deal with LA, he and his agent will be expecting offers of around $125 million for 5 years. Even if he gets a new contract he is not gaining much considering he already is on the middle of a $147 million contract with the Dodgers. Lets face it, the Dodgers may have won the West the last 3 seasons with Don Mattingly at the helm, but for some reason cant reach the World Series, despite how talented and ready the team is.
