Flurry of Trades

Wednesday and Thursday of the Winter Meetings were very busy days for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The first move was acquiring Jimmy Rollins for 2 pitching prospects. The second and third moves went hand in hand as Dan Haren along with Dee Gordon were flown across the country to Miami in exchange for a multiple of prospects including one of the most promising in Andrew Heaney. The Dodgers Find their SS

Since the departure of Hanley Ramirez the Los Angeles Dodgers’ new front office has been analyzing and discussing different possibilities to fill the SS role since the young infielders down in Oklahoma City are not ready yet to fight for the starting role. Josh Donaldson to the Jays???

Back on November 28th the A’s traded Josh Donaldson to the Blue Jays for Brett Lawrie, and three prospects. When this trade first came out it took the whole baseball world by surprise. The first reaction was why in the hell would they trade Donaldson who has developed into one of the best third baseman’s in the game with his powerful arm and bat? Jon Lester’s Decision Bolsters Cubs Rotation

Finally the decision is made. Jon Lester has reportedly agreed to a $155 million deal over 6 years to head the Chicago Cubs rotation. He is going to receive an average of $25 million/year. The 106-year WS drought could be over within the next couple years as this Winter Meetings deal will be talked about for years and years to come. Lester will be the #1 starter to a rotation under him that consists of Jake Arietta, Jason Hammel, Travis Wood, Kyle Hendricks, Jacob Turner, and Edwin Jackson.
