Turner Field, Enormously Spectacular

Being the third largest stadium in the MLB, Turner Field almost looks like a football stadium it is so vastly large. It’s size is both it’s weakness and strength. With Grand Canyon type size comes complexity, as one can easily get lost walking around the stadium. Despite Turner Field’s complexity making it low on lots of fans’ stadium list, it’s uniqueness draws people back to it. Edenton, NC is nothing special, just another good for nothing town out in the middle of no where. The stadium where the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League team, the Edenton Steamers play, is nothing better than the town, but it has it’s upsides. War Memorial Stadium has been the home to the summer collegiate team of the Coastal Plain League, the Peninsula Pilots, since 2000. What makes the stadium great in the present Continue reading War Memorial Stadium, a Piece of Baseball History in Hampton, VA

Hooker Field, an Interesting Summer Ball Stadium

The first thing that is noticeable at the home of the Martinsville Mustangs of the Coastal Plain League (Summer ball short-season) is that the infield is astroturf, while the outfield is natural grass; a rare, yet interesting combination. Walking into the main entrance, the fans walk down steps into the seating area, just the way baseball stadiums should be designed. However, overall the layout is a little too complex. The complexity of the layout does make Hooker Field unique, however. There is a picnic area down the left field line which gives a great space for families with small children, Continue reading Hooker Field, an Interesting Summer Ball Stadium
