Yogi Berra at D-day

Fun Fact of the Day:

Before Yogi became Yogi Berra, he served as a gunner’s mate on the USS Bayfield during the D-day invasion on June 6, 1944, as a 19-year-old kid, who had his whole life ahead of him. If Yogi had not come home safely after serving his country proudly, it would have re-written the baseball history book, especially for the Yankees who won 10 World Series with Berra behind the plate. Yogi was such an inspiration to young kids during his hay day as he always said: “It ain’t over ’til it’s over.” Baseball might not have been as exciting without the 3-time MVP putting up great number after great number as he finished his career with a .285 batting average, 358 homers and 1430 RBI’s. Baseball fans will always look back at Yogi as a great war hero and even better player.

  1. This is a comment to the webmaster. Your Yogi Berra at D-day – Johnny L’s Baseball Clubhouse website is missing out on at least 300 visitors per day. I have found a company which offers to dramatically increase your traffic to your site: http://claimyourexcellence.info/1gk They offer 500 free visitors during their free trial period and I managed to get over 15,000 visitors per month using their services, you could also get lot more targeted visitors than you have now. Hope this helps 🙂 Take care.
