43 Games in a Row for Reaching Base

Fun Fact of the Day:

Back on Wednesday the 27th, Matt Holliday hit a single in the 5th inning of a game against the D-Backs, which was the 43rd game in a row this season that he reached base safely. With that he passed Albert Pujols’ record of most consecutive games to start a season for reaching base in the National League. However, in the American League, Derek Jeter holds the record with 53 back in the 1999 season. This record breaker by Holliday is starting to get the Cardinals thinking about placing him at 1B to help replace injured Matt Adams. Matt Holliday has been one of the best veteran consistent hitters in the league for years now, and is finally getting recognizing for it.
