2 Yankee Homers for 3000

Fun Fact of the Day:

On Friday, June 19, 2015, A-rod hit a home run off of Justin Verlander to reach his milestone 3000th hit. Over the past few years, the Yankees have seen the legacy of their originals from the late 90’s and early 2000’s retire. Mariano Rivera had an emotional fair well tour in 2013, while winning the ASG MVP, and then Andy Pettite retired soon after. Then came the Captain’s final year including the ultimate finish to a clutch career, when Jeter had a game winning hit for his last at-bat in Yankee stadium. Sure that was great, but what was even better was his 3000th hit, which was also a home run off of an ace pitcher, in David Price. So, two Yankee legends, and some of the greatest hitters of all-time, have both hit a bomb to reach the inevitable 3000, and they wasn’t easy tasks, as both were off of elite pitchers in David Price and Justin Verlander; who ironically, they are now teammates.
