Ryne Sandberg was one of the best 2nd basemen of the 80’s and early 90’s. He was a career long Chicago Cub. His career batting average is .285. He was a very good all around player who appeared in 10 all star games. His 7 seasons with over 100 runs and his 9 gold gloves highlight the Hall of Fame career that Sandberg put together. Ryne was a solid 5 tool player that collected all kinds of awards to support it such as silver sluggers, gold gloves, all star appearances, and an MVP award. He was the definition of a solid player.
